May is National Bike Month. To celebrate and encourage people to spin those wheels, a number of Kimpton hotels are offering related packages all month long. The properties already offer complimentary bicycle rentals year-round, but they’ve tossed in a few extra perks and discounts for May, too. Book one of these and get pedaling.
Florida
All five of the Sunshine State’s Kimpton properties are participating in a Spin and Sip promotion. Visit any of the local attractions within biking distance from the hotelss curated list, snap a photo of it (or yourself) and share on social media with the hashtag #SpinandSipKimptonFL, and receive a complimentary cocktail during each hotel’s daily happy hour. You don’t need to book the package especially; simply inquire at the front desk during check-in. Here’s the scoop on the participating hotels:
The Angler’s (Miami) — Rates start from $186 per night here for a studio king room this month. To snag this lowest rate, stay May 18-19, 26-28, and 31.
The Surfcomber (Miami) — You’ll find the best price of $203 on May 6, 11, 19-20, and 25-27, for a deluxe king room.
Vero Beach Hotel and Spa — Deluxe king and queen rooms both go for as low as $219 this month. The rate is available for the nights of May 5-7, 10-14, 17-21, 25-28, and 31.
Tideline Ocean Resort and Spa (Palm Beach) — Stay here in a garden view king room on May 5-6, 10-14, 17-22, and 26-28 to take advantage of the month’s lowest price of $229.
EPIC Hotel (Miami) — There are only three dates on which you can check in to get the best price of $249 at this property; do it May 8-10 for city view double or king premier rooms.
Minneapolis
In addition to two bike rentals, The Grand Hotel’s Bike and Dine package includes a room upgrade (if available), two bikes with a custom map listing must-see places, and $50 dining credit for its SIX15Room. The lowest rate we could find is $165 for a deluxe queen, though it’s only offered on May 8 — a Friday, to boot. Your next cheapest option is $215 per night for May 7, 9-10, 21-25, and 31 stays.
Chicago
Though most of the travel period for Hotel Monaco Chicago’s Red, White, and Blue package is for June and July, there’s a charitable aspect to it that we love and wanted to share. The hotel will donate 10 percent of every package booked to Leave No Veteran Behind, a non-profit organization that provides veterans with employment training, transition jobs, and an educational debt relief scholarship . As for the package itself, stay anytime between Thursday and Sunday from Memorial Day through July 4 weekend to enjoy two reserved bikes, a round of white juice at South Water Kitchen, and the use of a Fitbit to track how many miles you’ve biked. The lowest rate for the promotion is $245, which we found for June 7, 21, and 28 for king deluxe rooms. If you can wait a while longer, July 2 rooms start from an even lower $235.
